The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation’s thematic booklet Globalization – Materials for Lesson Preparation takes a look at globalization in its current stage and in different dimensions.
The focus is on the perspectives of people affected by their negative impacts.
The material is primarily aimed at teachers of upper secondary education, predominantly in the subject spectrum of social sciences/economics/political education. The work suggestions in the booklet can also be adapted to lower secondary learners from different types of schools.
The five chapters in the booklet are divided into the following topics
1. why are smartphones produced in China?
2. why are our clothes so cheap?
Textile workers in Bangladesh and the world market
3. is slavery back in the 21st century?
4. land theft or displacement by legal means?
Global land grabbing and resistance
5. globalization – how to explain it? Are there alternatives?
