In this book, Coulthard analyzes Canada’s government policy of recognizing First Nations and, using Marx and Fanon, describes it as a colonial strategy of oppression. Using the #IdleNoMore campaign as an example, he draws conclusions for anti-colonial indigenous resistance in the 21st century, such as the need for direct action, strict anti-capitalism, and a common struggle of indigenous activists that transcends nation-states.
