The alliance consists of political activists, scientists and representatives of various civil society initiatives.
On its website it writes:
“We would like to initiate a broader critical examination of Bremen’s colonial history & research the role of Bremen and its inhabitants* in colonialism. It is our concern to make colonial activities visible in the present and to expose colonial-racist structures in our society. Through our work, we advocate for the decolonization of public space, knowledge, and the politics of memory.”
In addition to exhibitions, lectures and film screenings, the alliance also offers workshops for school classes and postcolonial city tours.
