“The non-fiction book ‘Rassismus auf gut Deutsch’ (Racism in Good German), which was published in 2010 and compiled texts by various black and white authors, offers a current look at the topic of racism in Germany. The book focuses on the descriptions and analyses of terms that have racist connotations and which are explained in this meaning. The editors rightly call this a reference work, and as such it is suitable for an audience interested in comprehensible explanations of racist linguistic traditions in the German context. Even the introductory text by the two authors-a Black German and a White German-offers an exciting, easy-to-read look at motivations for publishing a book focused on racism and white privilege. The breakdown of various forms of discrimination, of which racism is one, and the inclusion of the People of Color perspective alongside the Black perspective mean that the reference book offers helpful foundational texts. At the same time, it dispels the notion that classic rebuttals received when criticizing racist language-‘What can I even say now’ or ‘I didn’t mean it that way’-have a raison d’être, however well-founded.'” (from the Review by EOTO – Each One Teach One e.V.)
The book also contains a contribution on the terms ‘development’, ‘development/cooperation, aid/policy’ by Evelyn Hayn.
